Show U.B.I.C. Opens At Fort Oychesne FORT DUCHESNE! The seventeenth seven-teenth annual Uintah Basin Industrial In-dustrial conference and Indian fair opened here today. Hoisting of the American flag at sunrise I and a band concert at 8 a. m. ; officially started the three-day j celebartion on its course. Speakers at the 10:30 program included Senator Elbert D. Thomas, Tho-mas, Dr. George Thomas of the University of Utah; David Guor-ley, Guor-ley, assistant superintendent of public instruction, and Dr. Eth-: Eth-: elyn O. Greaves, state director of farm security. Second day speakers will be Governor Henry H. Blood, Jim At-wine, At-wine, an Indian, Senator William H. King, R. T. Bonin, Ute tribal agent, and William Peterson, director, dir-ector, Utah State college extension exten-sion service. lwo numbers from Brigham Young university extension division divi-sion will be furnished Thursday. Dale and Jay DeGraff, Heber City, will play an instrumental duet, and Carl Eddington, Springville, Spring-ville, will give performances of magic. Representing the Utah county fair at the convention will be Director Dir-ector Seth T. Shaw and a vocal trio from B. Y. U. composed of LaVar Bateman, Riverton; Wayne Booth, Provo, and Marvin Mower, rairview. Representative Abe Murdock will be among the speakers for the final day. |
