Show UTAH COUNTY FAIR NEWS SEPT. 7, 8, 9f 10 Under the supervision of Vearl S. Johnson, a pet stock department depart-ment has been added to the Utah county fair. Every year a number of pets have come in, but we have had no way to classify them and have them judged. In the past, under the classification of pets, turtles, porcupines, por-cupines, skunks, pet rabbits, dogs, cats, etc., have been brought in. 1N0 pet animal should be brought in that cannot be exhibited ex-hibited in a pen 20 inches high. Prizes will he awarded to winners win-ners in the pet entries. Great interest is being shown again this year in the community communi-ty exhibits, directed by Frank G. Shelley, supervisor. Committees Commit-tees in most of the communities communi-ties in charge of this exhibit are now at work gathering material to place in storage for preservation. preserva-tion. It is important that the products used be of highest quality qual-ity and representative of the products grown in that aret. The exhibits will be judged on the following basis: Artistic design, 25 points; representative of community com-munity products, 20 points; quality qual-ity of products, 25 points; educa-' tional value, 25 points. This year, Orem wiJl compete with Class A communities for the $250 first prize ; $150 second prize ; $100 third prize, and $50, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth. In Class B, Alpine, Genola, Goshen, Go-shen, Mapleton and Salem. |
