Show jKiwanis District Convention's FOugusT278 --Kiwanis convention at Ogden: Ogden is surely going to town .during the Kiwanis district convention con-vention to be held August 27 to 29 inclusive. The convention committee com-mittee reports that reservations are coming in fast at the hotel, and that it may be necessary to provide accommodations for some at the homes of the Ogden mem-j mem-j bers. li: Some of the outstanding events of the program will be the governor's gov-ernor's banquet and ball at the Hotel Ben Lomond at 7:30 o'clock p. m., August 28. That 9od old westerner and friend "f the west, Pat McCarran, senator sen-ator of Nevada, will be the main speaker of the evening. . ; Another (Outstanding- speaker ;will be J. Reuben Clark, who is the chairman of the foreign bondholders bond-holders committee and council-man council-man to the Presidency of the L. D. s. churc'h, who will ad-i ad-i dress the business session at 10 !'clock on the morning of Aug. 28 at the hotel. He is also a national and international figure, having served as ambassador to Mexico for several years. The convention, as has been . heretofore announced, will start I off with that wonderful pageant (to be held in South Fork cannon, can-non, Sunday evening, August 27 at 8 o'clock. Kiwanians and their friends will leave the Hotel Ben Lomond in a caravan at 6:15 P- m. There will be all kinds of en- tertainment for the ladies and t men during the convention, such airplane rides, boating, golf, i 'rap shooting, swimming, hoi'se- . hack riding, etc. 1, M. W. Bird, president of the I'ocal club, reports that there is . much activity among his mem- j bers. and he expects a. good at- tendance from the local club for this convention at Ogden,. |
