Show WHEAT PRICES ENCOURAGING CHTCAGO, July 16 uH) There was many a wrinkle on the suntanned sun-tanned brow of the American farmer far-mer today as he watched wheat traders toy with the money he hoped to use in paying- off that mortgage on Hie old homestead. If prices continue to advance as they did yesterday he not only will be able to pay off the mortgage mort-gage but buy a new tractor as well. An advance of 2 cents a bushel in the price of December wheat yesterday on the Chicago board of trade promised to fatten his bank roll by $14,620,000 providing, provid-ing, of course, that unfavorable weather and the black rust do not down his expected yield. In the face of this handsome profit, however, how-ever, the wheat farmer was in a skeptical mood. |
