Show New Arts Building Prospects Brighen Through the efforts of Mayo George A. Anderson and other members of the high school art committee, a possible outright grant of 45 per cent of the cost has been secured from federal funds, to construct an art building here, it is reported. An effort will now be made to secure the aid of the city, state, and school board to raise the remainder re-mainder of the necessary funds to carry on the project. It is planned, if possible, to construct a $50,000 building. It is pointed out that the art project does more to bring Springville to the front than any other one project in the community. commu-nity. It therefore would be money well spent in assisting with the art building, in the opinion of art patrons and committee members. The state also gets a certain , amount of publicity through the art project, which is becoming well known all over the country. It is possible that financial assistance as-sistance will be available from this source as well as from the school district, it is stated. If the necessary funds are available, avail-able, work on the project will begin be-gin in the very near future, committee com-mittee men report. |
