Show S. D. STRONG i IS KILLED IN TRUCK MISHAP. Shephard D. Strong, 57, of 536 East Third South street, was killed touay wnen a truck he was driving crashed into a stalled coal truck at the Draper crossroad on South State street. j Strong- was taken to Salt I I Lake General hospital in the rear of another truck, but was dead upon arrival. Sheriff's officers began a hunt for the man who took Strong to the hospital. After delivering the body, the man di'ove away without identifying himself. The coal truck was driven driv-en by Lloyd Hennem, police said. Strong's death was one of three recorded in Utah within the past 24 hours resulting from traffic accidents. According to members of the family Mr. Strong, an employe of the Strong and Grant Construction Construc-tion company of Springville, was returning to his work in Ogden at the time of the accident, which occurred just after 6 a. ' m. He came home Tuesday to visit his father, J. A. Strong, who is seriously seri-ously ill at his home in Springville. Spring-ville. He was born in Sp'-insrville. May 21, 1879, a son of J. A. and the late Sarah Hutchings Strong. He married Mabel Fullmer, March 8, 1906, and they moved to Provo about eight years ago. He was an active L. D. S. church worker. Surviving in addition to his wife and father, are the following sons and daughters; Maurice Strong, Salt Lake City; Elmer Strong, Mrs. Helen S. Tanner, Mondon, Lois, Vivian, Donna and Shirley Strong, all of Provo. Also, he leaves three grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. The family was notified of the fatal accident early this morning and Mrs. Strong is suffering from severe shock. She is under the care of the family physician. |
