The First ward genealogical organization or-ganization with Harvey Hutchinson Hutchin-son in charge presented the two-act two-act musical comedy, "Mary Marian,' 'in the Fourth ward amusement hall, Thursday nig'ht. Harrison, 25, a native of Spring-ville, Spring-ville, Utah, and Ann Dvorak, 22, formerly of Ohio, were married I here Saturday by Don B. Colton, president of the Eastern States L. D. S. mission.. Mr. Harrison, a son of George and Ada Bissell Harrison of Springville, has been residing in Washington, D. C, for more than a year, being employed by the government as an accountant in the treasury department. The bride is head stenographer in the same office. After a few days' stay in New York, the couple will return to Washington, where they will re-j re-j sume their work. Mr. Harrison is a graduate of the Springville high school and the B. Y. U. The Mothers' Study club which u ' 'is to have met Friday afternoon the home of Mrs. Nell Alle- 'in, has postponed the meeting e week. It will now be held 4 jirch 5, at Mrs. Alleman's home. . The Home Culture club held an , 'teresting meeting on Friday af ternoon at the home of Mrs. M. W. Bird, with music as the principal prin-cipal theme. Two very fine papers were given, one on the Old Masters, Mas-ters, and another, Modern Composers, Com-posers, by Mrs. Mary Bird and Mrs. Lillian Thorpe, respectively. Mrs. Bird also illustrated some of the compositions by the various vari-ous composers, on the piano. At the close of the meeting a nicety arranged lunch was served to twenty club members present Mrs. G. L. Barron, president of the club, was in charge of the meeting. Mrs. Max Rowland entertained at a birthday dinner at her home last Thursday evening with cov-Hvs cov-Hvs laid for the following relatives: rela-tives: Mr. and Mrs. Fain Averett, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Averett, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Averett. Mrs. Harold Christidisen and her mother Mrs. Graham, and Mrs. G. L. Burton were among those from Springville who went to Salt Lake City to see Jane Cowell, last week. Mrs. Mabel Simkins was hostess to members of the Jovality club it her home on Friday night. Early in the evening a dainty and tasty lunch was served at small tables and . later bridge was enjoy en-joy cel. Prizes for the games went to Mrs. Louise Brown of Provo and to Mrs. Alton Packard, the latter being a guest. Other guests in attendance were Mrs. Kate Las-son, Las-son, Mrs. LaVar Anderson, Mrs. Hugh Baxter and the members were Mrs. Mary Bird, Mrs. Luell Straw, Mrs. Afton Palfreyman, Mrs. Ann Stewart,. Mrs. Lucille Packard, Mrs. Carrie Tripp, Mrs. Audrey Jensen and Mrs. Brown. The next meeting of the club will be March 5 at the home of Mrs. Carrie Tripp. Mrs. Rose Roylance was hostess to members of the Fidity Bridge club at her home Friday evening. Lunch was served at 8 o'clock, after which bridge was enjoyed. High score prizr was won by Mrs. Faye Cranmer a'nd the second prize by Mrs. Floss Cates. Nine club members attended and also Mrs. Madge Clyde. The' next club meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Louise Whiting, March 5. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Thorstensen accompanied by Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Green well of Ogden visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Crandall en route to Arizona 'On a two weeks' vacation. The history of an early pioneer, Mrs. Eunice Billings Bill-ings Snow was given in an interesting inter-esting manner by Mrs. Lydia Billings. Bill-ings. Mrs. Elva Davis gave a piano selection. The lesson of the afternoon was on "A Pioneer Library Li-brary in Every Community," and was given by Mrs. Ellen Crandall. Cran-dall. Mrs. Harriet Witney was welcomed to the camp as a new member as was Mrs. Sarah Weight. At the close of the program pro-gram dainty refreshments were served by the hostesses to about 30 members and guests in attendance. attend-ance. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bird and two children recently moved from Lindon to Springville, where they will make their home. Members of the Kensington club of the local Community church spent a delightful time Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Erie Boorman. Sewing and social chat were features of the gathering which was concluded con-cluded with a dainty and tasty lunch. A large crowd of local and out-of-town young folks enjoyed the high school junior prom held at Memorial hall, Friday night. The ball followed a basketball game between Spanish Fork and Springville Spring-ville and a large number of the visitors remained here. Mrs. Margaret Grooms is at her home slowly recovering from an automobile accident nearly eight weeks ago in which she suffered a severely lacerated knee and deep cuts to her face and head. She was confined to the Spanish Fork hospital about five weeks. Members of the S. T. club and their husbands will be entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Brown at 8 p. m., Thursday. All are urged to be present. A delightful evening was spent by members of the Jeune Mere club Wednesday evening when they were entertained a the home of Mrs. Marie Whiting. An attractive patriotic color scheme suggestive of George Washington's Washing-ton's birthday, was carried out in the dainty and well arranged luncheon served early in the evening. eve-ning.
