Show KIWANIS CLUB TO FEATURE SECURITY MEET The Kiwanis club meeting tonight, to-night, at Memorial hall, is under the direction of A. G. Thorn, toast-master, toast-master, and will feature a talk by Howard Thorn on "Social Security Regulations 8 and 9." A fine musical musi-cal program is also arranged for the occasion. The meeting last Thursday night was in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the organization of the Springville club. Secretary Harrison Conoveit acted as toastmaster. Kiwanis ladies and widows of former members mem-bers were invited as special guests. W. R. Wallace of Salt Lake City was the principal speaker, telling in an interesting manner of the customs and living conditions of the Russians in whose country he visited last summer. Miss Davis, who accompanied Mr. Wallace to the meeting, also told of her experiences ex-periences in Russia. President Milton Harrison cut a huge birthday cake which centered the long table, from which a birthday birth-day dinner was served. Attractive favors were given the ladies. Musical entertainment for the evening consisted of vocal solos by Mrs. Lela Packard and piano solos by Wallace Martin. Attendance awards for the evening eve-ning were given to Harold Chris-tensen Chris-tensen and Mrs. Dean Stewart. |
