Show LAST MEET OF P.-TA ASS'N The last meeting of the Spring-ville Spring-ville P.-T. A. was" held last Wednesday Wed-nesday night in the high school art building, with Mrs. Madge Thorn, vice-president, in charge. Dr. Alonzo Morley of the B. Y. U., gave an interesting and instructive talk on speech. He :raced the origin of speech from its beginning and told of its importance im-portance in the life of an individual. individ-ual. He described the different kinds of speech and its effects upon listeners. More than 27,000 people in the state are afflicted with a serious speech defect, he said. The meeting also featured music mu-sic by Miss Lucille Best and De Vere Weight, who gave duets from the opera, "Mikado." Officers of the association for t'he coming year were elected as follows: President, Mrs. Gladys Boyer; first vice-president, W. W. Brockbank; second vice-president, Mrs. Helen Crandall; secretary, Miss Ferl Nielson. The retiring officers are Mrs. Vilate K. Reynolds, Rey-nolds, Paul Walker, Mrs. Madge Thorn and Fern Bate. |
