Show "Y" Prepares For In vasion Of Bears Cougars To Face Teachers at Provo Friday and At Spanish Fork Saturday; Visitors Play Utah 'U' Thursday Night After a brief holiday layoff the Brigham Young university cagers will resume practice again Thursday Thurs-day in order to be prepared for the invasion of the Colorado Teachers at the Women's gymnasium gym-nasium Friday night and at Spanish Span-ish Fork high school's new gym Saturday night. The Bears are all set to begin hostilities in the Western Division Thursday night when they are slated to clash with the up-and-down University of Utah team at Salt Lake City. The Cougars soared to great heights a week ago to win a fast game from the Bears at Greely, Colorado. Definitely "on" throughout through-out the entire game, the Cougars met. a team which was just as definitely "off." Indications that the Bears are really a far better team than this score showed, were made previously when they held the powerful Denver Athletic club team to a scant margin of victory. The combination of McClure, Cromer, Farwell, Smith and Bel-luzo Bel-luzo and company has shown an aptitude for high scoring thus far in the season and these Bears may come out of hibernation to down the highly-regarded crew of Coach Ott Romney. In a preliminary game, the fast Snow College five of Ephraim will class with the Cougar Frosh, an aggregation of all-star high school players of past years. The contests at Spanish Fork Saturday night are expected to prove unusually attractive. As a preliminary game the Provo high school Bulldogs wlil play the Spanish Fork high school team, beginning at 7 p. m. The Bear-Cougar Bear-Cougar contest immediately afterward. |
