Show SECOND FOSSIL FOUND IN OREM A second fossil find of great interest in-terest has been uncovered in the Orem gravel pit, according- to Dr. George H. Hansen, geologist, and Dr. Albert B. Reagan, anthropologist, anthropo-logist, of Brigham Young university. univer-sity. Bones belonging to an ancient an-cient species of buffalo were found December 17 and have since been nositively identified by the B. Y. U. experts as Bison occidentatis. These bones were found in the same time horizon as the hairy mammoth bones discovered in the same pit some time ago. They consist of a jaw bone and a leg bone. "This is the first time that the bones of this ancient species have been discovered in this vicinity, at least as far as we know," said Dr. Hansen. "The fact that these bones have been found in association associa-tion with others apparently belonging be-longing to a hairy mammoth is highly interesting."
