New York stock exchange made average ave-rage profits of $1,333,333 in the period beginning in 1928 and running run-ning through the 1929 boom as well as the lean days, that followed, figures submitted to the senate banking committee today revealed. The toal sum, as gathered from questionnaires tabulated by Ferdinand Ferd-inand Pccora, the committee's counsel, showed a net income of S833, 168,686 for the period. The figures were compiled from answers an-swers that represented almost the entire member body of the exchanges. ex-changes. The net income ran a little more than one-third of the gross income of $2,153,218,671 which the reporting report-ing firms received. |
