Show Farmers Urged To Use Caution In Buying Fertilizer Farmers are cautioned not to purchase commercial fertilizers until they have consulted experts regarding the needs of their land. This counsel is offered by Dr. Thomas L. Martin, agronomist at Brigham Young university. He warns particularly against the use of raw rock phosphate. Some soils in this state respond favorably to the application of phosphate. If a farmer finds that his soil is benefited by such application ap-plication he is advised by Dr. Martin Mar-tin to use the treble super phosphate phos-phate on sale at most seed houses. Raw rock phosphate has, he declares, de-clares, no immediate value. "Make good use of barn yard manure," urges Dr. Martin. "Com-liercial "Com-liercial fertilizers may in some instances in-stances be good. Experiment and consult impartial experts but do not use raw rock phosphate." |
