The agricultural department today to-day announced details of its $712,-000.000 $712,-000.000 farm program . for 1939 and described it as "the first complete test" of the new agricultural agri-cultural adjustment act. For farmers who cooperate with the department in reducing acreages acre-ages and building soils, the government gov-ernment plans to pay a minimum bounty of 3.6 cents a pound on cotton, 14 cents a bushel for corn, 27 cents a bushel on wheat, 22 cents on rice, three cents on potatoes po-tatoes $3 a ton on peanuts, and grants of tobacco ranging from .8 cents a pound for flue-cured and burley to 1.5 cents for Georgia-Florida type 62. |
