Show WEED CONTROL PLANS MAPPED Weed contrcl compounds, available avail-able to farmers at 4 cents per pound, will be used beginning August 1 to combat noxious weeds in the area, weed control committeemen commit-teemen announce. County equipment will be available for application. Those wishing the treatment should apply ap-ply to the county agricultural office, of-fice, to workers on their rounds, or to members of the weed control con-trol committee. Five tons of compound com-pound is now available in Provo reports State Agricultural Commissioner Com-missioner David F. Smith. County weed control committeemen committee-men meeting with county commissioners, com-missioners, Monday afternoon, decided de-cided to amend the program for the next fiscal year so that the state would share one-third the cost of the spray program, the individual, one-third, and the county, the balance. The county furnishes the equipment and applies ap-plies the spray for its share of the cost. Collection of $4 per hundred pounds is made from the farmer for the spray material. Payments must be in advance, and an order issued on the Wasatch Chemical company in Provo for material. Sodium chlorate is inflamable and should be applied by county employees, but calcium chlorate is safe enough to be applied by farmers, far-mers, comment Theron Hall, chairman chair-man and S. R. Boswell, secretary of the committee. |
