Anderson left Friday on a vacation trip to Cali- ; f orn ia: She plans to visit at Los Angeles, Long Beach and San Diego, returning by way of San Francisco. Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Neill left Friday on a 10 day or two weeks' vacation trip to the northwest. They plan also to travel down the coast and visit places of interest inter-est in California. Miss Hazel Anderson, daughter cf Dr. and Mrs. George A. And-erson, And-erson, left Sunday in company with Miss Reva Madsen of Salt Lake City, on a vacation trip to California. They will return by way of San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Waters entertained at a canyon outing at Sulphur Springs Sunday, it being the latter's birthday anniversary. A delicious hot chicken dinner was served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Turner and family, Mrs. Sarah Jameson and daughter, Mrs. Annie Olson, Mr. jand Mrs., Charles Hanks, all of , Spanish Fork; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Badham and children of Payson; 'Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes and 'children and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Frandsen and son Don of Springville. Spring-ville. Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Childs entertained a number of friends at a canyon party Friday night, ,at Sulphur Springs. Games and luncheon were enjoyable features. In attendance were the following, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cranmer. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hutchinson, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Felix. S. L. Mendenhall accompanied by Carlos Hutchings and Willis K. Johnson, the latter two well past their eightieth year, attended attend-ed the Black Hawk encampment and took a tour through the Bryce and Zions canyons. Captain and Mrs. M. F. Minor of the local Black Hawk committee commit-tee were among those who accompanied accom-panied members of Springville through Bryce and Zion canyons. In honor of Miss Margaret Fox who is leaving soon on a mission to the northwestern states, the Senior and Gleaner girls of the Second ward M. I. A. entertained at a party at the home of Miss Marie Simkins, Tuesday night. The following program was given; duet, Margaret Fox and Mrs. Helen F. Sanl'ord, accompanied by Miss Annie Fox; reading, Miss Dona Salisbury; toast to Miss Fox by Edna Starr, after which the guest of honor was presented with a beautiful assortment of handkerchiefs hand-kerchiefs from those present; reading, Mrs. Janet Crandall; duet. Eva and Edna Starr. At the conclusion of the program refreshments were served. Assisting Assist-ing hostesses were Virginia Sim-kins, Sim-kins, Wanda Stewart, Edna Starr, Mrs. Janet Crandall, Fern Nelson. In attendance were the following, foie Riglrup, Marie Rigtrup, Olive and Virginia Childs, Mina Crandall, Eva and Edna Starr, Hortense and Elaine Crandall, Barbara Bar-bara Gudinundsen, Lots Tippetts, Eva Crandall, Avis Thompson, Mrs. Martha Harrison, Mrs. Hazel Harrison, Mrs. Mabel Hansen, Ida Hoffman, Elizabeth Harmer, Margaret. Mar-garet. Fox, Cleon Fox, Lula Hatch, Harriet B., Evelyn and Harriet Miner, Helen Clark, Madelyn Harrison, Har-rison, Mrs. Helen Sanford, Annie Fox, Mrs. John p'ox and Miss Dona Salisbury, the latter four being be-ing special guests. The next meeting of the group will be Aug. 25 at the home of Miss Marian Miner. Viis Minnie Henderson came from the Salt Lake City L. D. S. Nurses Traiing school this week to visit her parents, here. Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Phillis Allan of Provo and George Fay Hone of this city which took place Monday at the county clerk's office, Provo. Clifford B. Keddle of this city and Mildred Muir of Alpine, were married Saturday at the County Clerks' office, in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Stubbs and son of Ogden have returned to their home after several days visit with Mr. Stubb's parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Uegg. They also attended at-tended the Black Hawk celebration celebra-tion at Cedar City. Ralph Noakes of Oakland, Cal., is spending his vacation with his parents, M.- and Mrs. Will Noakes. Ralph is employed in a mens' clothing establishment in the coast city. Joe Stewart of this city left recently for Los Angeles, Calif., i |
