Show High School News Items By Sy,lves Birch Members of the Springville high school band and orchestra and solo contestants, will leave Thursday, April 30 for Logan to compete in the music contest that is being held there Thursday, Fri-'day Fri-'day and Saturday, April 30, May 1 and 2. The Springville high boys who were awarded honors aL the B. Y. U. Invitational track meet that was held at Provo, April .24 to 25 were Erie Boorman, second sec-ond place Ln the high nurdles; Kay Hardy, third place in 100 yard dash, and second in 220 yard dash; Walt Robinson, third place in 440 yard dash; Carl Curtis, fourth place in the high jumps; and the relay team, Walt Robinson, Robin-son, Merlin Jones, Kay Hardy and Bernell Anderson, was awarded award-ed third place. It has been estimated that more people have visited the Springville High school art exhibit this year than ever befoie in the history of the gallery. Visitors during the past month include groups such as civic clubs, women's clubs, study clubs, and genealogical societies, Utah county nurses, sororities, CCC enrollees, and large numbers of students from schools throughout through-out the state. The art register shows that many people from surrounding states came to the gallery as well as some from more distant places such as New "York, New Jersey, Washington, D. C, and Chicago. More than twenty-five thousand people have seen the art exhibit this month. |
