Show SOCIETY NEVS The Legion banquet and program pro-gram last Wednesday at Memorial hall with approximately 100 Legionnaires Le-gionnaires and their partners and auxiliary members and their partners part-ners in attendance, was one of the outstanding and successful events of the past week. During a sumptuous dinner served at 8 p. m., vocal and instrumental music was given in addition to talks by Otto Weisley, department depart-ment adjutant, H. T. Reynolds, national committeemen and toast-master, toast-master, and Commander LaVar Anderson. Friends will be interested to know of the marriage of Miss Mabel King,, of Roosevelt, former- ly of Springville, to Freeman Alexander also of Roosevelt. The marriage took place in Salt Lake City, Monday. Enroute to their home in Roosevelt the couple visited the bride's aunt, Mrs. T. E. Child and family with whom Miss King made her home the past two years. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bird recently re-cently came from Idaho where they have spent the past few months. Daughters of Pioneers, Camp Aaron Johnson, are scheduled to meet with Mrs. Wells Crandall, Thursday, November 19. A well arranged program is, arranged for the occasion and ail members are urged to be present. Members of the S. T. club gave a party Friday night at Provo, for Mrs. G. D. Kennedy who resigned recently and is making her home in Salina. She 'had been a member mem-ber of the club 16 years. Supper was served early in the evening, followed by bridge. Mrs. Kennedy was presented with a lovely gift. There, were present Mrs. J. W. Grant, Mrs. Leon Harrison, Mrs. Hugh Baxter, Mas. Bert Rowland, Mrs. Amasia Rowland, Mrs. W. A. Clark, Mrs. Lewis Clegg, Mrs. Lee Sumsion, Mrs. George Crandall. Mrs. Harry Pennington, Mrs. Ed Johnson, Mrs. W. H. Brown, Mrs. Floyd Harmer of Paysori, Hrs. Arthur Finley and Mrs. W. J. Phillips, the latter three being special guests. , , , Several hundred ward members attended the First ward reunion Thursday afternoon and Friday evening at the amusement hall. The children were entertained with a program and dancing-Thursday dancing-Thursday under the direction of the Primary organization and the adults were entertained with program pro-gram numbers and a dance on Friday afternoon. The annual high school Ag club ball, one of the outstanding social so-cial events of the year is scheduled sched-uled for November 25, at Memorial Memor-ial hall. A unique feature of the event will be the giving of a Thanksgiving turkey, during the evening. 1 |
