Show UTAHNS KILLED IN IDAHO CRASH Wellsville Men Kun Down By Coupe at the Side of Stalled Car DOISE, Nov. 25 (U.I!) A coroner's cor-oner's jury tody heard the story of an accident on the Oregon trail highway near here late Saturday Sat-urday in which Ernest Hall, 30, and Wesley Maughan, 28, both of Wellsville, Utah, were crushed to death by a speeding auto. The evidence pointed to the one tragic point had the pair pur chased gasoline at their last stop on their trip from the Utah city, they would have been living today. The testimony at the inquest brought out events of the accident. acci-dent. The Utah men and Maughan's cousin, Barbara Maughan were riding along the highwy toward Boise. Suddenly their car ran out of fuel. The two men did not push their car off the road but waited for help. A truck, driven by Martin Lubeitch, arrived and stopped behind be-hind the stalled auto. Maughan and Hall got out of their car, went back to the truck and asked for gas. Lubeitch said he would push the car to Boise, three miles. Before the pair could return to their car a lighe coupe driven by Mathew Strause, Boise salesman, crashed into them, hurled them to the ground to instant death. Bar- bara Maughan, inside the car, escaped es-caped injury. . Hall died of head fractures and crushed chest. Maughan died of crushed chest, fractured skull and fractured leg. |
