Show MENDENHALL RETURNS FROM SCOUT TRIP Chairman S. L- Mendenhall Sr., of troop organization in Timpan-ogos Timpan-ogos council, in company with A. A. Anderson and Merrill Chris-topherson, Chris-topherson, scout . executives, recently re-cently returned from an enjoyable and profitable organization trip to southern Utah and the Boulder dam district. In a brief report of the trip, Mr. Mendenhall gives the following notes: The first night was spent at Beaver, where the organization officials of-ficials met with the district committee. com-mittee. The following day the party went to Cedar City to organize. or-ganize. From there they traveled to Overton, Nev. where they attended at-tended a three'days camporee program which included a trip on Boulder Lake. One-half of the scout delegation, 65 men and boys, left Overton at 4 a. m. for Boulder City where they took the boat and traveled up the lake a distance of about 35 miles to St. Thomas. The other half of the delegation went down the dam inspecting the project pro-ject enroute. The party returned to Overton that night to attend a mammoth barbeque. Leadership training featured the Sunday morning programs, while a band concert was given in the evening. Monday morning was given over to contest work, with representatives in attendance from : Caliente, Pioche, Bunker, Glendale, , Misquite, Overton, and Boulder! j City. i ! Tuesday and Wednesday was J i spent in St. George at a leader-1 ship training. On Thursday night the scout officials were the principal prin-cipal guest speakers at a fathers' and sons' banquet and program. I Friday the scout men left for Orderville, where they met with the Kanab district. Here also they j were special guests at a fathers', i mothers' and sons' banquet. They left Saturday to return to their homes. |
