Show ENTHUSIASM GROWS FOR ARTEXHIBIT With the laying of the tile as the final lap in the construction of Springville's art gallery, the fact that the sixteenth annual exhibition ex-hibition of American art will be held in the new building seems assured. The exhibit will be opened open-ed the first day of April, as usual, and the numerous letters which have been received from artists signifying their intentions of sending entries insure a larger exhibit than has ever been held heretofore. The old problem of advantageous hanging of the canvases can-vases entered will be overcome this year because of the extensive wall space and the favorable lighting light-ing features of the new gallery. The building contains four large display rooms joined by artistic arches and lighted according to latest scientific methods. Over a hundred artists will send entries representing every section of the country and a wide variety of subjects. Practically all the favorite exhibitors of former years will be present, together with a large number of new artists, who, having heard of the Springville project, have written for information infor-mation and expressed their desire to be represented.1 Letters 'have been received from many former exhibitors who have 'Voiced their interest in the new art gallery and their congratulations to the people peo-ple of Springville for the completion com-pletion of such a worthwhile project. proj-ect. The following extract from a letter from J. Eliot Enneking of Brookline, Massachusetts, expresses ex-presses the sentiment of many artists from various sections interested in-terested in this project: "I am delighted de-lighted to be invited to exhibit again with the Art association of Springville. I surely would like to see your new art gallery. If you have any photos taken of the new gallery, be sure to send me a print. "Please extend my congratulations congratula-tions to the people of Springville and my many thanks to the members mem-bers of the art committee for the invitation to exhibit during the month of April." |
