Show ROMERO RENEWS PARDON PLEA SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 21 (U.R) The November session of the Utah state board of pardons was in recess today after a meeting in which 25 or 51 pending cases were discussed and acted upon. The session will be resumed in the statehouse tomorrow. At the first meeting, a parole, effective May 9, 1940, was granted Milton. Davis, 25, serving a forgery forg-ery sentence, and a parole, effective effec-tive March 11, 1940, was granted Vernon Done. 37, serving a forgery forg-ery and parole violation sentence fiom Cache county. Among cases to be considered tomorrow is that of A. Lee Romero, Ro-mero, 46, who has served nine years of a 10-year manslaughter sentence, imposed after he , was convicted of shooting his mother-in-law, Mrs. Sena Baxter, at Pleasant Grove, July 5, 1930. At the same time he shot and killed his father-in-law, Walter Baxter. He has applied 25 times previously for a pardon and commutation com-mutation of sentence. |
