Show JAMES WIGNALL SERVICES HELD Largely attended services were held in the First ward chapel Sunday for James Wignall, pioneer resident of this city who died Thursday night, at the family residence of ailment incident to his age. Bishop A. G. Peterson, was in charge. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Wignall was born in Preston, Pres-ton, Lancashire, England, May 19, 1847. He emigrated to the United States and crossed the plains to Utah with a handcart company in 1856. During his early life he engaged in farming and also assisted in construction of early railroads in this vicinity. He was a successful ranch owner and stockman, retiring retir-ing several years ago. He married Harriet Burt in October, 1872, at Payson. The couple observed their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary last year as the second oldest couple in this city. Surviving are his widow and six sons and daughters, E. G. Wignall, Wig-nall, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Hattie Allen, Mrs. Maggie Daley, Mrs. Grace Averett, Mrs. Charles Averett, Aver-ett, Springville; Mrs. Ella Hatch, Provo. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Sunday at 1:30 p. m. in Uie L. D. S. First ward chapel |
