Show Activities Of City Sports Softball will continue until city championship is determined. In the Commercial league Johnson Tire Service is still leading with 5 wins and 1 loss. The schedule for games this week is as follows: Friday, Sept. 8, Johnson Tire Service will play Mapleton at 7:30 p. m. Springville Garage will play Fi rst Ward "M" Men, S:30 p. m. , The games will be played earlier froiu now on due to darkness dark-ness closing in on us sooner and the opening of school. There will be no game scheduled on Tuesdays Tues-days due to the beginning of mutual. Deacons games that were washed wash-ed out last Monday will be played Thursday, Sept. 7, starting at 7 o'clock Wednesday, Sept. 13: Johnson Tire Service vs. b' irst Ward "M" Men at 7:30 p. m. and Mapleton vs. Springville Garage at 8:30. The playground activities ended last week with an exhibition of handicraft handi-craft and dance. Many useful and decorative objects were made by the children attending the park program each afternoon. Over a hundred each day took 'advantage of the instructions given by Janet Crandall and her assistants who carried on this program in a very commendable manner. The recreational leader of this city wish to extend their appreciation appre-ciation for the fine cooperation they have received from the city council, Commercial club. American Ameri-can Red Cross, American Legion, Springville Herald and other organizations or-ganizations and individuals who nave helped to make the year's program possible by entering teams in leagues and who have contributed funds to further the cause of recreation in Springville. |
