Show (Uintah Range I Forage Good Fprogo on the Uintah range will be above average this year, due to the spring rains, according to a report of Charles De Moisy, U. S. forest supervisor, who just returned from a two weeks' survey of the range. The range was two weeks earlier this season than usual, but due to cold weather in May it was retailed re-tailed considerably. Heavy rains, however, provided ample moisture for the forage which will probably excel most years. Mr. DcMoisy surveyed sur-veyed Ihe range in the south fork at the herd of the Provo river and o!so the west foik of the Duchesne river. Although the snowfall at the watersheds is not average, both the Provo river and the Duchesne are rising rapidly at the present time, from the melting of the May snows. The Kamas-Stockmore road was open for travel on May 27, Mr. De Moisy reported, which is more than a week earlier than the road is generally opened. It was also reported that 4 miles of drift fence have been completed in the west Duchesne by :ne cooperation co-operation of the private land holders, hold-ers, the cattle associations and the U. S- forest service. Six miles of drift fence have lieen reconstructed |
