Show UTAH SECOND IN SWEETNESS WASHING-TON, D.' C Utah is sweeter than New York and not quite as sweet as Nevada. According Ac-cording to statistics recently compiled com-piled by the United States department depart-ment of commerce, enough, candy was eaten in Utah in 1929 to provide pro-vide an average of 18.73 pounds for every man, woman and child, as against 17.17 pounds in New York and 22.55 pounds in Neveda. The general average for the whole country was 13 pounds, and Utah's per capita consumption gives her the position of second sweetest state in the Union, surpassed only by her neighbor, Nevada. , Although Utah ranks second in the per capita amount of candy eaten by her citizens, she gets thirty-eighth , place when total poundage is used for comparison. The total amount of candy eaten there in 1929 was 10,117,070, an increase in-crease of 234,787 pounds over the year previous.
