Concluding an enjoyable time with games and music, a dainty lunch was served. Present were Phyllis Weight, Ver-lain Ver-lain Beardall, Norma Clegg, Elaine Whiting, Bernice Best, Catherine Weight, Bud Kennedy, Creed Weight, Herbert Taylor, Blaine Whiting, Kale Case, Glenn Law and David Thomas. Mrs. W. A. Bird entertained at a quilting at her home Wednesday afternoon. Attending were Mrs. Will Noakes, Mrs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. Ralph B. Weight and Mrs. Andrew Pierce. A fine program is scheduled sched-uled for the occasion and all members mem-bers are urged to attend. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Reynolds returned re-turned early this week from a de- j lightful visit with friends and rel-" atives in Los Angeles, Calif. An enjoyable party of the week was given Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Dell Thorn when the officers of the Fourth ward Relief Re-lief society entertained in honor of the teachers. Nearly 60 guests attended. The ward bishopric and Willis Strong of the high council, Relief society advisor, were special invited guests. During the early evening the new teachers were set apart by Bishop Mendenhall who also gave a brief talk. President Deal Miller welcomed the guests and expressed appreciation for the splendid work of the teachers. Mrs. Phoebe Singleton entertained with, a reading and rrlusical selections selec-tions were furnished by Mrs. Emma Jacobsen, Mrs. Bess Mendenhall, and the Relief society quartet,' accompanied ac-companied by Mrs, Sarah Palfrey-man. The regular monthly social hour of the Kolob stake Primary associations associa-tions will be held Saturday, March 7, in the First ward amusement hall. Officers and teachers of the Fourth ward will be hostesses. Members of the Kensington club of the Spying ville Community church spent a delightful afternoon Tuesday at the home of Mrs. W. L. Grooms. A large crowd attended and after quilting, the ladies enjoyed en-joyed a delicious two-course lunch. A number of friends and relatives rela-tives surprised Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Grooms at their home one evening this week, the occasion being their fortieth wedding anniversary. A pleasant time was spent with social so-cial chat and music. A dainty luncheon was served. Mr. and Mia. Will Grooms sponsored the party. Mrs. J. M. Sumsion, Mrs. Mart Crandall and Mrs. Vaughan Olsen were dinner guests last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Eva Seethaler , in Provo. The Missionary society of the Springville Community church was pleasantly entertained at the home of Mrs. A. M. Lyall Thursday afternoon. after-noon. During a business meeting the following officers were elected for the coming year: Mrs. Peter Forsyth, president; Mrs. D. B. Welch, vice president; Mrs. W. L. Grooms, treasurer; Mrs. Minnie Dennison, secretary. Concluding the meeting delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Crandall went to Salt Lake Friday to attend the college basketball game. Mrs. Crandall remained over the week end to visit relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson and son Dick and Mrs. Rhema Weight came from Eureka Sunday and were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Weight. Mrs. Vaughn Olsen was . the dinner din-ner , guest Friday of Mrs. ; Lynn Roberts in Provo. Miss Gwen Martin of this city with a number of Provo friends attended at-tended the basketball game in Salt Lake Friday evening. Members of the high school Veda club sponsored a splendid program at the Friday morning assembly. Coach Ott Romney of the B. Y. U. "was the speaker. After the game in the evening the boys of the club entertained with a successful dance in the gym. Mrs. Fred Kindred was hostess to members of the N. I. P. club at her home last Saturday evening. A patriotic color scheme was artistically artis-tically carried out in room decorations. decora-tions. Progressive "500" was played with three tables arranged for the game. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Ann Stewart and Miss Hilda Clegg. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess to ten club members and Mrs. Olin; . Zabriskie and' Mrs. Orson Hanson, special guests. The girls of the Second ward Beehive Bee-hive class under the leadership of Miss Mary Boyer .were highly entertained en-tertained "Tuesday after school when they were taken on an inspection inspec-tion tour of the Startup, candy factory fac-tory in Provo. About 13 class members mem-bers made the trip. ' Members of the Ladies Literary club were entertained Saturday' afternoon aft-ernoon at the home of Mrs. Manilla-Brown. Manilla-Brown. Luncheon was served at 2:30 o'clock to 15 club members. Late Mrs. J. F. Wingate gave in an especially interesting manner a re-' view of the story "Lisby." President Presi-dent Helen Crandall presided. The next meeting of the club will be March 14, with Mrs. Lowry Anderson Ander-son and Mrs. Hanah Callister as hostesses. A large crowd of relatives of the Beardall, Gabbitas and Clements families gathered in reunion at the First-ward amusement hall Saturday. Satur-day.
