Large Attendance The banquet, sponsored by the Spanish Fork Kiwanis club, was attended by more than 200 persons per-sons coming from all parts of the county as well as Salt Lake who gave Governor and Mrs. Blood a rousing ovation. Mrs. Blood who was presented preceding the . governor's talk, voiced her appreciation and pleasure pleas-ure in being priveleged to attend the show in a happy talk. Charles -H. Dixon, president of Hie Kiwanis club, was in charge. After a short address of welcome he introduced F. J. Faux, music instructor in-structor at the Spanish Fork high school, who acted as master of ceremonies during the evening. Welcoming addresses were made by Mayor Niel Dahle and Dr. R. C. Swallberg, manager of the show. Toasts were presented by G. Ray Hales and Elisha Warner. Pratt Peterson of Sanpete entertained with stories in Scandinavian dialect. dia-lect. One of the high lights of the program pro-gram was the reading by Miss Lethe Coleman, formerly of Midway Mid-way and a noted Chautauqua lecturer. lec-turer. She was forced to read an encore at the conclusion of the reading. Glenn Coffman, junior high school music instructor, sang a vocal solo and an encore. Dr. Joseph Hughes offered the invocation. invoca-tion. The audience sang -"America" at the beginning of the program pro-gram led by Carl Jacobsen who led in the Kiwanis handclasp. The Cardinals furnished orchestra or-chestra music during the evening. |
