Show FAT STOCK IS SOLDATSHOW SPANISH FORK With rapid bidding by local buyers and buyers from distant towns ,the auction sale of fat beef and prize winning bieep and swine, conducted by Col. W. H. Adams of Salt Lake -went off swiftly and satisfactorily Friday Fri-day afternoon, the closing day of the three day Utah County Livestock Live-stock show. In two hours 100 animals were sold, 80 of these fat steers, the other: sheep and swine. Winning the top price in trie sale was the grand champion fat lamb of Myrl Argyle, which brought 60 cents per pound and was sold to the Cudahy Packing company for Sewell's Meat market, Provo; the reserve champion cham-pion lamb owned by J. Fred Skinner Skin-ner sold for 25 cents per pound to the Ogden chamber of commerce; com-merce; Che champion white face lam-b of Mark Hanson was sold to the North Salt Lake Livestock company for 15 cents pet- pound. The other fat sheep sold brought a fair market price. Dean Hanson' grand champion swine sold to ta Utah Idaho Livestock company for 15 cents per pound. The remainder of Che swine brought a iittle belt it than market price. The grand champion fat steer Dwned by J. Fred Skinner, brought , 17'. cents per pound and was sold , to the Sanitary Meat Market of Spanish Fork. The reserve cham-1 cham-1 pion fat steer ownedby Leslie Er-ar-I dall sold to the Springville Meat market for 13 cents per pound. The i remainder of the seventy fat steers ! sold broug'ht an average of 7 ! cents per pound. The majority of them were purchased by the R. L. Jex company of Spanish For It. While prices paid were low as compared com-pared to other years, the buying 1 was especially rapid it was stated by stock show officials. |
