Show 86 Degrees Set Record For April 6 Summer Temperatures Prevail Pre-vail In Inlermountain West; S. L. Has 81. Provo reached a temperature of 86 degrees Sunday, a record for this time of year. SALT LAKE CITY, April 7 U.1) --Summer temperatures prevailed n most sections of the intermoun-tain intermoun-tain region today, after many points had recorded record-breaking marks yesterday. Cooler weather weath-er was predicted for tonight, but the abnormally mild temperatures were scheduled to continue for a few days. Thousands of visitors gathered in Salt Lake for the centennial celebration of the Lat.terday Saints, perspired under a high temperature tempera-ture of 81 degrees yesterday. This was the hottest April 6 in the history his-tory of the weather bureau here. Temperatures ranged above 70 quite generally throughout the mountain regions. Boise sweltered under a sun that caused the mercury mer-cury to rise to 84. Needles, Calif., and Yuma, Ariz., vied for honors us the hottest recorded re-corded spot, each registering 102 degress. |
