The Genealogical workers of the Third ward entertained at a social in the ward hall last Friday evening, eve-ning, a delightful program of games, social chat and music featured feat-ured the evening with refreshments refresh-ments served in conclusion. Mrs. Susan Miller of Chester was the guest of Mrs. Christie Lee the past week end. Meirmers or the 3oelal Twelve club were pleasantly entertained at their annual Christmas party Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Ed Johnson. Preceeding a delicious midnight supper progressive progres-sive auction bridge was played with Mrs. Emma Rowland and Mrs. Manilla Brown winning prizes. Concluding the party gifts were distributed to each member from a beautiful decorated tree. Complimentary to I. S. Brown whose birthday occurred Thursday, Thurs-day, a daughter, Mrs. Anthony Clayson and husband of Spanish Fork, entertained at a delightful party for family members at their home Thursday evening. In attendance from Springville where Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Bird Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Brown. , Ava Delma club members .were guests of Mrs. Norma Noe at their annual Christmas party Thursday j evening. A dainty Christmas ! luncheon was served at small tables, after which the ladies played bridge. Prizes were, awarded award-ed to Mrs. Margaret Zabriskie and Mrs. Evelyn Fry. Other club members mem-bers present were Mrs. Viola Smith, Mrs. Vera Zabriskie, Mrs. Carrie Tripp, Mrs. Helen Beard-all, Beard-all, Mrs. Virginia Marker, Mrs. Camillc Taylor, Mrs. Wealtha Mendenhall, Mrs. Naomi Bcardall, Mrs. Pearl Smith. The evening's entertainment closed with the exchange ex-change of Christmas gifts. A nicely arranged and enjoyable party was the annual Christmas social given by the Boosters' club high school social unit, at the home of Miss Charlotte Hall, on Thursday evening. A beautiful Christmas tree and other holiday decorations added to the spirit of the affair. Games and the exchange ex-change of gifts were enjoyed with the following club members attending: at-tending: Miss Jane Bagley, Miss Harriet Miner, Miss Eulalia Con-die, Con-die, Miss Minnie Henderson, Miss Venitta Peterson, Miss Naomi ' Tew, Miss Geraldine Eggertson, Miss Eloise Metcalf, Miss Evelyn Metcalf, Miss Margaret Pierce, Miss Naomi Sumsion, Miss Ber-nice Ber-nice Evans, and Miss June Metcalf the latter being a guest. Miss Delia Baxter was hostess to the Beehive girls of the First ward M. I. A. at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. The girls exchanged ex-changed gifts and enjoyed the evening eve-ning with games, social chat and music. A tasty picnic lunch was .served to about twenty-five class members and friends including the class leaders, Miss Luell Straw and Mrs. Flossie Sanford. Miss Helen Paifreyman entertained enter-tained a group of teachers and I riends at a pre-holiday party at her home Monday. A unique and entertaining game of progressive "gifts" featured the evening's entertainment en-tertainment with Miss Ellen Wheeler winning her pick of the "gilts." A tasty and well arranged ar-ranged luncheon was served in the early evening to the following guests: Miss Mattie Davis, Miss Melba Sumsion, Miss Ellen Wheeler, Wheel-er, Miss Lillian Russell, Miss Elda Hanson, Miss Naomi Broadbent, e In honor of Miss Aieene Wheeler r who will be married soon, Miss 5 Priscella Nielson entertained the . faculty of the Grant school, of t which Miss Wheeler was a member, mem-ber, at a dinner Friday evening at her home. Covers were laid for - Miss Mary Roylance, Miss Lucy i Roylance, Miss Ruth Whiting, Miss Marie Simkins the honor guest and hostess. ! Mrs. Clara P. Bird and son Boyd Page of this city left Saturday Satur-day to spend the holidays witn Mrs. Bird's daught"'- and husband at Pocatello, Idah ,, The Novelty Circle, high school ; social unit were entertained at their annual Christmas party Thursday evening at the home of Miss Marjorie Straw. Dinner was served at 8 o'clock, the dining table and rooms being pretty with Christmas emblems and motifs. ! After dinner the girls exchanged j gifts and enjoyed social chat and i music. In attendance were Miss j Beryl Whiting, Miss Ferl Nielson, Miss Helen Averett. Miss Bernice Jensen, Miss La Rae Alleman, Miss Billie Lee, Miss Fern Row- land. Miss Lula Hatch, Miss Thel-. Thel-. ma Madsen. Miss Aieene Wheeler left Friday for an indefinite stay at Tacoma, ma Madsen. Mrs. Lillian Huntington was hostess at a Christmas dinner party at her home Monday. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Jones of Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. John Knox of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Alice K. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Fielding K. Smith of : Salt Lake, Stanley Peay of Provo, t Erling Roylance, Olive, Lucy and Virginia Childs. I i Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Singleton entertained at a delicious Christmas Christ-mas dinner Monday for the following follow-ing relatives: Mrs. Phoebe Singleton, Single-ton, Miss Zina Singleton, Rose-marie Rose-marie Heywood, Robert and Max Singleton and David Singleton of Salt Lake. i Miss Virginia Harword of Hazel- ton. Idaho, spent the Christmas i holidays with her sister Mrs. Lee ; Sumsion and other relatives here. Jack Binks of Salt Lake spent the week end and Christmas with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas j Binks in this city. Mrs. Dora Crandall in company I with her daughter Mrs. H. B. Em-t Em-t brey of Salt Lake left this week ! for a month's visit With another , daughter Mrs. E. B. Snow and family at Santa Ana, Calif. En route the party will visit Mrs. Crandall's son Erwin and family at Las Vegas, Nev. Mrs. Dora Crandall and sons Robert and Frank spent Christmas Christ-mas with Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Embrey and daughter Beverly in Salt Lake. John Cutler who has spent the past several years in Nevada i visited his mother Mrs. William j Larabee and other relatives here during the holidays. |
