Show SOCIETY NEVS Mr. and Mrs. William Larabee of this city announce the marriage of their daughter Thelma to Laurel Christensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Einer Christensen of Spanish Fork which took place last Thursday in the Salt Lake temple. ' Arch H. Bird left the past week to spend the holidays with his daughter Mrs. Charles Harding and family and his son Hailey at Berkeley, California. The officers and teachers of the First ward M. I. A. entertained' I at a social in the amusement hall Tuesday evening for Mrs. Bessie W. Stevens who is resigning her position in the Mutual. Games and refreshments were enjoyable features fea-tures of the entertainment. I Mr. and Mrs. George Dallin of I this city have gone to Los Angeles, Calif, to spend several weeks with their son Glenn Dallin and family. Miss Melba Hall was hostess at her home at Mapleton Thursday evening, at a party for the Trail Builders. The boys exchanged gifts and a tasty luncheon was served to Thirl Tew, Grant Hall, La Mar Holley, Cecil Johnson, Evan Allan, Neill Whiting, Jean Whiting and Don Roundy. Mr. and Mrs. Bertrum Dallin spent Christmas with relatives and friends at Milford. The annual alumni dance Christmas Christ-mas night was one of the most successful socials of the holiday season attended jy a large crowd of local and out of town people. I1 resident H. M. Weight was general gen-eral chairman of the entertainment entertain-ment assisted by other officers: Miss Inez Starr, vice president; Lenore Condie, secretary-treasurer; Myron Child, Helen Fox and Clark Madsen, executive board members. A delightful time was spent by members of the Ladies' Literary club Friday evening at the home of Mrs. F. C. Packard. A prettily arranged and tasty luncheon was served at 8 o'clock after which auction auc-tion bridge was enjoyed. Mrs. Bert G roes beck won high score favor and Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen the consolation. The others in attendance attend-ance were Mrs. Glenn Sumsion, Mrs, Lowry Anderson, Mrs. T. L. CaHister, Mrs. Frank Salisbury, Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, Mrs. W. N. Grooms, Mrs. Rhea Straw, Mrs. Helen Crandall, Mrs. Julia Sumsion, Sum-sion, Mrs. Jack Bearnson, Mrs. Will Brown. Christmas gilts were distributed to each member at the close of the party. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bird entertained en-tertained their children and families fam-ilies at Christmas dinner Monday at their home. The long dining table was centered with red roses. Covers were laid for 30 guests including Mr. and Mrs. Bird and two daughters of Bingham, Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Bird and children, Mr. and Mrs. Will Brown and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bird and children, Mr. and Mrs. FI03TI Harmer and family of Pay-I Pay-I son, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bird and I son and Rnssen. Dean and Clara j Bird. I The Mothers Study club mem-! mem-! bers were guests of Mrs. Wayne ! Johnson at their annual Christmas Christ-mas party Friday night. Gifts were exchanged following a nicely arranged ar-ranged program in which the high , school quartet composed of Eivin Peterson, Clarence Savage, Eu-lalia Eu-lalia Condie and Mary Johnson furnished vocal selections accompanied accom-panied by Miss Marjorie Straw, and Miss Helen Fox, Lucy Wain-wright Wain-wright and Mrs. Eva Crandall gave a short Christmas pageant, composed by the latter. Berton Johnson accompanied by Miss Nelda Johnson also entertained with a cornel solo. Club members attending were Mrs. Martha Harrison, Har-rison, Mrs. Buleah Whiting, Mrs. Josie Alleman, Mrs. Rena Roylance, Roy-lance, Mrs. Lon Binks, Mrs. Grace Baker, Mrs. Pcrcinda Oakley, Mrs. Maud Thorn, Mrs. Ella Reynolds, Mrs. Ada Harrison, Mrs. Elsie Thorn, Mrs. Eliza Russell, Mrs. Nell Alleman, Mrs. Mae Fletcher, Mrs. Emma Kennedy, Mrs. Emma Long, Mrs. Eva Crandall. Mrs. Ray Glazier left this week to spend a month in Los Angeles, Calif, the guest of Dr. and Mrs. Frank Hatfield. . A nicely arranged Christmas eve party was given by Miss Zina Johnson at their home for- members mem-bers of their family and friends. All enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus who. distributed gifts early in the evening. A variety of games 'were played and a musical program given. Dainty refreshments, refresh-ments, carrying out a Christmas color scheme, were served to Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson and family of Richfield, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Mead and family of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wilson and children of Eureka, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Miner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sumsion and children, chil-dren, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Miner, Miss Rosetta Flavel of Richfield, Idaho, Ernest Boyer and Bert Strong. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Roylance and daughter Mary were in Gunnison Gun-nison Saturday night to attend the silver wedding celebration of Mr. Roy lance's youngest sister, Mrs. C. E. Embley and husband. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. John Whiting went to Salt Lake Christmas day to visit Mrs. Eliza Thorn who is at her daughter's home. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Packard and son Milan of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Wyo-ming, were guests oi Mrs. Packard's Pack-ard's mother Mrs. HatUe Black-ctt Black-ctt and other relatives here on Christmas. Ben Cluff of Redondo Beach, Calif, returned home Tuesday after a week's visit with his aunt Mrs. Millie Martin and other relatives rela-tives here. Mrs. Ralph Reed entertained at a birthday dinner Sunday complimentary compli-mentary to her husband. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Meacbam and family, Mr. and M rs.
