Show LEHI RESIDENT SHOOTS SELF LEHI Charles Herron, 55, of Lehi blew the top of his head off with a 33-30 rifle this morning at four o'clock, as the culmination of a drinking bout started the night before in company with William Argyle of Soda Springs, Idaho. The shooting was done in the small granary on the Herron place. Herron had risen at about 4 a. m. telling his wife that he was "going out." He was found three hours later by Dove and Adam Rockwell who were point?- to tuire i Salt Lake from whence he was to join the Ah weld sheep herd. The trio were going to leave this morning. morn-ing. No explanation ils given for Her-ron's Her-ron's act except that he was disgusted dis-gusted with himself and ill from the effects of drinking denatured alcohol. According to his wife, he was extremely nervous and seemingly seem-ingly ill Thursday morning. Deputy Sheriffs Walter Dun-ant and John Evans investigated the case after they were called by Jim Zimmerman, Lehi night watchman. Sheriff FJ. G. Durnell went to the scene later in the morning. Mr. Herron iy survived" by his wife, Nina Herron, 5G, and three sons: Mark of Los Angeles; Max, of Provo and Francis of Lehi. |
