Show Local Poultry Industry Makes Splendid Progress With the close of another succes-ful succes-ful year the Springville and Mapleton Maple-ton members of the Utah Poultry Cooperative association, extends best wishes to the people of these communities for a Merry Christ-mass Christ-mass anid a prosperous New Year. The poultry industry has already grown into one of the most important im-portant revenue producing enterprises enter-prises in tlfis locality, and with the added impetus which the recently constructed plant gives, the out-took out-took is good for much greater de-clopment de-clopment in t'ne future. In a brief resume of the accomplishments ac-complishments of the association, it is stated that the Utah Poultry Cooperative association has paid in feed crediTs, to producers of Springville and Mapleton approximately approxi-mately S14.00-3.03. The association has called in 5,000 shares of poultry poul-try stock and paid the face value of one dollar per share. Springville has a feed storage and egg grading plant which the community might well be proud of. The record of the operation of the plant here, both at the old and new location, is outstanding. Despite th'e period of depression the plant has maintained practically practi-cally the same feed volume of approximately ap-proximately $73,000 during the past year. The Utah Ppultry cooperative association, with an optimistic view of the future, has selected 6,000 of the beat laying hens from all over the state and have h'ad them tested seven times in order to supply poult rymon with the highest high-est grade baby chicks possihte this spring. The hatchery is located-at located-at Manila and is one of the most modern equipped of its kind in the west. Manager Lionel Miller of the local lo-cal Utah Poultry cooperative egg grading and feed storage plant, invites in-vites the public to Inspect the local concern for the most modern and up-to-date methods of handling eggs and feed. He also urges the cooperation of all poultry men in the community to further develop the growing industry. |
