Show American Legion Auxiliary Extends Greetings To All ) By ETHER JOHXSOX I resident The American Legion auxiliary unit extends best wishes to the people peo-ple of Springville for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year. With a membership of sixteen, the Legion Auxiliary was organized organ-ized July 7, 1928. Since that time th'j enrollment has increased to a total of sixty members for the year 1932. The organization has assisted with child welfare and rehabilitation rehabilita-tion work, both in the community and in sibe state, by contributing to a miik fund for the under-j under-j nourished children in the schools, J ; y selling poppies to assist dis-i dis-i Med soldi-rs and their families, and by sending supplies to various veterans' hospitals. A junior cl.'.ld safety traffic project pro-ject was carried out in the schools, under the direction of tVie Auxiliary, Auxil-iary, last year, and prizes were a va-de .1 for essays on various ph?..-.cs of the movement. besides project work the Auxiliary Auxil-iary has sponsored a number of successful social functions .which have also aided them in financing ;he work. During the coming year, the unit has planned a number of projects, outstanding among wfich is to assist as-sist with the furnishing of the Legion"-and auxiliary room of the Memorial hall. We extend a cordial cord-ial invitation to all ladies of the community to join the organization organiza-tion at any time. |
