Show POWER CANAL WORKSTOPPED SPANISH FORK--By a vote of 3 to 2 the Spanish Fork city coun-, coun-, cil Thursday night voted to rescind the option on the power site of Hansen and Thomas which they had formerly accepted and discontinue dis-continue work on the power line canal which had been going forward for-ward as a civic works project. The decision was made at a special meeting of the council and several j citi.ens appeared in opposition to the canal and power plant project. -Among them were R. M. AuUrua Henry A. Gardner, Wallace V BrockUmk, John E. Booth, R. W, Creer, Andrew Prior, Joseph h. Larson and others. After the public pub-lic discussion which lasted several hours a vote was taken, on the matter of rescinding the option contract already entered into with the T. and T. Elevator and Feed company. Councilman Herbert E. Williams and Gilbert A. Johnson voted to keep the option and Coun-cilmext Coun-cilmext David H, Jones, George Swcnson and Rccs W. James voting vot-ing to rescind. |
