Show CONTRACTORS OF UTAH VISIT SPRINGVILLE Complimentary to the large number of general contractors residing re-siding in Springville, the inter-mountain inter-mountain branch of Associated Contractors of America met here Monday as guests of the local members. All former contractors in this vicinity were given a special invitation invi-tation by the present contractors to join them in the days program. Ernest A. Strong acted as chairman chair-man of arrangements for the days entertainment and the group including in-cluding some 65 men visited the state hospital during the early afternoon. aft-ernoon. Through courtesy of Dr. Pace, superintendent of the hospital, hos-pital, the guests spent an interesting interest-ing and educational two hours at the institution. At 4 p. m. the contractors assembled as-sembled at the Springville Memorial Memor-ial hall, where a round table discussion dis-cussion of general contract problems prob-lems took place under the direction direc-tion of President J. B. Mullins. A banquet at the Second ward hall featured the evening entertainment. enter-tainment. H. T. Reynolds of this city was toastmaster and introduced intro-duced Hamilton G. Park, "The Senator from Sandpit," as the principal guest speaker. Among others who spoke were Preston G. Peterson of the state road commission; com-mission; Robert Patterson, district dis-trict engineer; Mark Tuttle, general gen-eral manager of the association; Hilton Robertson, Utah county commissioner; Mayor John L. Whiting, Dr. George A. Anderson, mayor-elect, Chairman Ernest A. Strong aid President Mullins. "Tabby and Bun," of American Fork furnished comic acts and sang several numbers during the banquet. |
