Show SOCIETY The officers and teachers and partners of the Fourth ward Sunday Sun-day school and the bishopric and partners were pleasantly entertained enter-tained Thursday evening by the superintendency at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Payne. The time was spent playing cootie at which A. G. Thorn and Mrs. Albert Denny won prizes. Miss Margaret Bird also entertained with a reading. read-ing. Others in attendance were Bishop and Mrs. S. L. A delicious luncheon was served at the close of the party. of raising funds with which to further equip the club room. The Third ward Relief society members were entertained Tuesday Tues-day afternoon with a quilting and program. The ladies chorus furnished furn-ished vocal selections; Crcde Brimhall, a cornet solo; Julia Sumsion, piano solo; Evelyn Larson, Lar-son, piano accordian numbers; with harmonica accompaniment by Anna Miner. Mrs. Henry Clark and Mrs. Mabel Brown were guests of Mrs. Elliott Bird in Salt Lake Thursday. Thurs-day. Mr. and Mrs. A. O. A report on the national legion and auxiliary convention by Department De-partment secretary Vilate K. Reynolds featured the monthly meeting ol" the auxiliary Wednesday Wednes-day evening. Mrs. Ella Crandall also gave a brief report on child welfare work of the organization and Thelma Clark a financial report. re-port. The auxiliary extended a vote of thangks to Mrs. Reba Reynolds for her contribution toward to-ward the auxiliary piano. ' Music during the evening' was given by Miss Mildred Cates, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Le Roy Hardy, and by the auxiliary chorus. Miss Marjorie Clark gave a reading. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Olive Miller, Mrs. Inez Chader and Mrs. Ann Johnson to 36 members and guests. Mrs. Hattie Blackett was in Salt Lake Wednesday and Thursday Thurs-day to visit her son Leon who is seriously ill at the L. D. S. hospital. hos-pital. Members of the Social Twelve club will hold their annual Christinas Christ-inas paity Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Ed Johnson. The annual holiday party for the husbands hus-bands is planned for December 29, at Keeleys, Provo. One of the largest and most successful socials of its kind the ' past week was the D. U. P. entertainment Thursday afternoon, after-noon, given in honor of the pioneers pio-neers of this city and all daugh-, daugh-, ters of pioneers. Over 150 camp members and guests attended, j Christmas observance talks were I given by Mrs. Nelson Beal, Mrs. Julia Packard and Mrs. Phoebe Singleton. A Christmas pageant, portraying Christmas celebrations of other nationalities, was also enjoyed, as was an old time dance given by D. U. P. members in cos-utme, cos-utme, with Joseph Shepherd, pioneer pio-neer fiddler and his son furnishing furnish-ing music, and John Robison calling. call-ing.
