Miss Florence Crandall, Miss Louise Crandall, Miss Florence Boyer and Miss Margaret Bird enjoyed en-joyed a slumber party Saturday at the Mendenhall home. A delicious supper was served by the hostess. Bert Friel of San Francisco and Mrs. Kate Ellington of St. Anthony, Idaho, have returned to their homes after a two weeks' sta- with their mother, Mrs. Margaret Friel, in Springville. Dr. and Mrs. N. Benl went to Eiuruim on Thursday to attend the wedding of Mrs. Beat's brother, Don M. Eeece and Miss Norma Anderson. An-derson. Wm. J. Friel of Los Angeles is in Springville on account of the illness ill-ness of his mother, Mrs. Slargaret Friel. Dr. Byron Reece of Salt Lake City was the guest Saturday of Dr. and Mrs. Nelson Beal. Mrs. Win. Banks spent the week- end in Spanish Fork. Mrs. H. E. Piper is a week-end visitor in Soldier Summit. Mr. and Mrs. Roper of Soldier Summit are visiting with Mrs. H. E. Piper. Mrs. Clara M. Bate spent last week in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Piper have returned to their home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Wm. Wagner of Rock Springs, Wyo., is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Raymond. Ray-mond. Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Crandall of Provo were guests Sunday of Mrs. D. M. Crandall. Mrs. Josephine Smith of Salt Lake City spent Sunday with Mrs. Rhoda Groesbeck Mrs. Veil Mower motored to American Fork to spend the weekend week-end with her husband. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salisbury motored to Salt Lake City, Friday. Mrs. Ada Fullmer has returned to her home in Eureka after a brief stay with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Sanford. Second ward Sunday school, Thursday Thurs-day evening. Games were the diversion diver-sion of the evening after which refreshments re-freshments were served by the hostess. host-ess. Tuesday evening the officers and members of the Second ward M. I. A. turned out in mass and cleaned up the grounds and mowed the grass around the chapel. After the clean-up ice cream was served to all the participants. L Dr. and Mrs. Clarence Snow and sons, Elliot, Robert and Willard, of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. P. M. Kelly of American Fork were among those who viewed the art exhibit at the high school Sunday. Francis Hamilton of Salt Lake City was a visitor at the home of D. M Crandall, Tuesday. Miss Marion Groesbeck spent the week-end with Dr. and Mrs. P. M. Kelly of American Fork. Mrs. John S. Groesbeck is visiting visit-ing with her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Scovil, at Ogden. Alma' Ostler has returned home from Nevada, where he has been in the interest of the Mutual Coal company. A weinie roast was enjoyed nt the Crandall ranch in Hobble Creek canyon last Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Rowland, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sumslon, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison, Harri-son, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rowland, and Mr. nnd Mrs. Andrew Peterson. The annual silver tea of the Service Star Legion of Springville was held at the home of Mrs. Jennie Starr, Thursday afternoon, May 1, at 3 o'clock. The purpose of the tea was to raise funds for the memorial monument. A splendid program was .rendered, as follows : Piano solos by Mrs. D. A. Smith ; two vocal solos, "An Indian Love Song" and "I Love a Little Cottage," Cot-tage," by Miss Ruth Boyer; a one-act one-act comedy, "The Playgoers," was given by members of the Springville high school; instrumental music by Mrs. Mary Whitney; reading by Mrs. Julia Porter. President Mary L. Metcalf was in charge. Tea was served to about 75 guests. The members of the S. T. club were entertained by Mrs. Leon Harrison at her home Thursday evening. Mrs. Lewis Clegg won the prize at the card game, "000." Dainty refreshments were served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Davies, Miss Elsie Davies and Miss Camille Craftree of Salt Lake City were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Diamond. Mrs. Wm. Nuttnll, Mrs. M. J. Nuttall and Miss Elenor Nuttall of Salem were the guests Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Manford Hutchinson. Charlie Gibbens of Green River nnd J. K. W. Bracken of Bingham were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. McKcnzie. The Junior Etude met at the home of Margaret and Mary Hadley, Friday Fri-day , April 25.
