Show PURCHASE NEW ART PICTURES Five New Paintings Added to the Art Collection of Spring-ville Spring-ville High School. The unveiling program of the prize picture find other pictures purchased by the Springville high school took place in the high school auditorium, Friday. Five pictures were purchased and unveiled. The prize picture "Land of the Morning" by Hanson Putbuff of California was unveiled by the successful popularity candidate, Miss Lewellyn of the freshman class as was also the picture presented pre-sented to the school by Alfred Schorff of Oregon, "One Gray Day." The "Hollyhocks" by John Hafen was unveiled by Miss Inez Wheeler, the senior candidate. "Spring Flowers" by John . M. Gamble of California purchased and presented to the school by the junior class was unveiled by Donna Hanson. Han-son. "Sunlit Glades," by John C. Carlson Carl-son of New York was unveiled and presented to the school in behalf of the art committee by A. J. Jacobsen. The following program was rendered ren-dered : prayer, Harold Alleman ; music by male chorus ; address by Dr. F. S. Harris of the B. Y. U.. ; music by string trio ; explanation of the prize picture by Dr. George Smart; remarks by Mr. Done and Wayne Johnson of the art committee. commit-tee. The exhibit will be open to the public Sunday May 4, the last day of the exhibit. |
