Show Springville Society Mr. and Mrs. Willis Sumsion announce an-nounce the engagement of their daughter Rea to George Straw. The marriage to take place Jan. 23. Miss Ida Worthen, of Salt Lake City, visited th eweek-end with her mother, Mrs. A. B. Worthen. Miss Helen Hughes nnd Lester i Arthur left Saturday for Texns. Stops will be made at Pueblo, Oklahoma, Ok-lahoma, Denver, New Mexico and Texas. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. B. Y. Houtz. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Nikols entertained en-tertained Monday nt dinner for the following : Mrs. John H. Amos, Mrs, W. H. Rees, Mrs. John Amos, all of Payson, and Mrs. E. H. Grey and Mrs. Leo Morgan of Eureka. Word has been received from Elder El-der Elmo Coffman that he has been assigned to labor in the Brooklyn conference. Richard Huntington and family were the dinner guests of Mr. nnd Mrs. O. B. Huntington Tuesday. Miss Eunice Hayes, of Spanish Fork, and Miss Gladys Hayes, of Thistle, were the dinner guests of Miss Helen Fox Sunday. Miss Inez Jesse entertained at a radio party Saturday evening; the guests numbered ten. Kenneth Phillips has returned to his home in Roosevelt after visiting relatives here. Mrs. W, M. Humphrey entertained entertain-ed Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Max Kless, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Peterson, and Mr, and Mrs. Ed. Hansen and family of Benjamin, and Mrs. Lottie Lot-tie Crandall. Mrs. F. C. Packard visited last week-end With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Boyer. Mr. nnd Mrs. Olof Jensen, of Logan, Lo-gan, visited the fore part of last week with Mrs. Jensen's sister, Mrs. A. O. Packard. Mrs. Jensen was formerly Miss Abby Groesbeck. J. E. Wonnacott and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Dyett and children of Soldier Sol-dier Summit, spent the week-end with relatives here. , .The Mother's Study Club will meet at the home of Mrs. Lewis .1. The Saturday Afternoon Card Club met nt the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Johnson Saturday evening even-ing and gave a party. The tables were decorated with sweet peas and hand-painted place cards, the evening eve-ning was spent with cards nnd games. Mrs. Charles Reynolds announces the marriage of her son, Stewart Elliot Jordan, to Miss Laura Glen of Btirley, Idaho. The marriage took place Dec. 29 at Rupert, Idaho, the ceremony being performed by the justice of the peace. The couple will make their home in Springville for the present. Mrs. E. T. Oaks and baby, of Napa, California, is visiting with her father, Thomas L. Mendenhall. G. W. Mendenhall has left for Raymond, Canada, where he will look after his Interests there. 'The. Second Ward Relief Society had a very good attendance Tuesday. Tues-day. Mrs. Hannah Davis gave the literary lesson oil the "Canadian Poets," after which Mrs. Myron A. Boyer gave several readings from her father's writings. Mrs. Walter Wheeler entertained at a birthday party Monday evening even-ing for her daughter, Mrs. J. O. Reynolds.
