Show 'MAPLETON ! NEWS ITEMS ! i - - A delightful M. I. A. social was given by the old officers of that organization for the incoming officers offi-cers at the home of Mrs. Myra Murray the other evening. G:tmes were enjoyed and light refreshments refresh-ments served to all present. Also plans for the coming year were discussed. dis-cussed. Mrs. Milly Leemastf-r, Mr. Glen Leemaster, and Miss Ann Leemas-ter Leemas-ter were guests Tuesday of relatives rela-tives in Mapleton. The party is on their way to Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Binks entertained enter-tained at their home Monday evening eve-ning for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Binks, who will leave soon to make their home in Soldier Summit. An enjoyable en-joyable evening was spent in games and social chat, and concluded with the serving of a dainty luncheon to the guests. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Morris Binks, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dibble, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Binks and family, and Mrs. Mary E. Binks. The Seagull girls of this ward entertained Miss Bertha Walter at home Monday evening. Miss Walter, Wal-ter, who, with her mother is leaving leav-ing next week to make her home in Provo, is being entertained at a number of socials and parties this week, one being at the home of Miss Muriel Jensen Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clegg of Spanish Fork were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Bird. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bird and children motored to Heber Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon, returning the same evening. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Perry were guests of their daughter, Mrs. John Warner of Spanish Fork. Miss Lucille Johnson was hostess at an enjoyable party given at her home Wednesday evening in hrior of her birthday anniversary. The following guests were present: The Misses Lillian Bird, Ina Holley, Ruth Whiting, Eva Harmer, Elaine Bird, Grace Lee and Quinn Whiting; Whit-ing; Messrs. James Holley, Wayne Holley, Donald Hall of Mapleton, and Leon Bird of Springville. Interesting In-teresting games were enjoyed, after which the hostess served a delicious and dainty luncheon. The girls of the Old Testament class in Sunday school are giving an entertainment in connection with the picture show Wednesday evening, main features of which will be bathing beauties, fashion show, fortune telling, and various other scenes of humor. They are working hard and wish everyone to support them and help them raise funds. Priced will be 15 and 25 cents. A Parent-Teachers meeting was held Wednesday in the ward chapel at 8 p. m. Mr. Christenson of Spanish Fork was the principal apeajcer. He also brought musical numbers from that city, which furnished fur-nished delightful entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Mackley were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jensen Sunday afternoon. |
