Miss Smith stated that this phase of women's work was emphasized at a recent meeting of the home demonstrators dem-onstrators of this state and that it is the desire of the extension division divi-sion of the Utah Agricultural college col-lege htat the woman's organizations take an active part in county and state fairs and exblnits. It was pointed out by Miss Smith that competition for prizes, even though the amount is small, stimulates stim-ulates great interest in the women's work which is reflected in every home in the county. The matter of selecting a general gen-eral chairman of the committees who will have charge ' ' 'he fair was taken under advisement by the commission'. This appointment will be made within the next few days, it is announced, after which a general gen-eral organization will he formed to carry on the work of the fair. The members of the commission indicated that a permanent exhibit from Utah county will he placed in the "Utah state capitol building and a booth also will be placed in the Utah sfate fair. The co-operative agreement for the; federal aid road project to be commenced at once, on the Red ! Xarrows-Dotour section in Spanish ! ITork canyon, was signed by the commission. The project covers a strip of road ten and one-half miles long and will cost approximately $190,000, of which Utah county will pay $-10,000. Bonds for the contractors who will complete the work of the city and county building in the sum of $SG,0(X) were approved by the members mem-bers of the board. |
