Show STEELPLANT ADDS TRACT TO PLANT SITE One Hundred Acres Added to Present Site at Request Of Officials Columbia Steel company officials have made application to the officers of-ficers of the Provo-Springvllle Holding company for more than a hundred acres of additional land lying ly-ing east of the Denver and Itio Grande railroad tracks at Ironton and also for a strip of land lying between the Denver and Uio Grande tracks and those of the Orem road. ; Officials of the two companies met in the offices of the Provo Chamber of Commerce Saturday afternoon at which time steel officials of-ficials explained tuat It is the desire of their company to the extent their slag dump with a view of filling In; the low lands and at the same time build a foundation for future units) to the present plant. While on official information was disclosed at the meeting It was intimated that the steel company's Ironton plant will be enlarged before be-fore long and that eventually a turning turn-ing plant will be established here. In compliance with the original contract between the Provo Holding company and the Columbia Steel corporation to the effect that the land would be turned over to the steel company as fast as it could he used in the development of their plant, the request for this land was granted, and the holding company will issue the deeds to the tract applied ap-plied for. Mr. Stack's request will be granted, it is reported. |
