Show SPRINGVILLE HIGH AWARDS 80 DIPLOMAS Graduates of the Springville. high gfhool were given impetus to continue con-tinue their education by Prof. Herbert Her-bert LJ. Maw. dean of men at University Uni-versity of Utah.-at the commencement commence-ment exercises hold in the school auditorium Friday evening. Eighty students, the largest graduating grad-uating class ia tho histoiy of the school, wcje awarded their diplomas, diplo-mas, the presentation being made bv J. Frark R.ringhurst. member of the Nebo district school hoard, who al.-o presented the junior high school graduates with their certificates. certi-ficates. The classes were presented by Principal Ernest E. Knudsen. who praised the students for the splendid splen-did work they had done. Honor medals also were presented by Mr. l nudscn. Lucy Wamwright and Ray Alle-ir.an Alle-ir.an were awn; (led efficiency mod-H mod-H contributed by the Springville bank fo.' the boy and girl achieving highest fdiolarship records in the rchool. The American Legion's me'dal fo;' music attainments went to Inez etniT aod .. Kay AHeman. Vadal CliH'ls lock the a tide tic medal awarded by Mendenhall bank, and also a beautiful white gold watch given by City Drug. Georg-a Hat me r was awarded the J. O. Reynolds' medal given to ihe valedictorian. The address of welcome was given giv-en by Paul Hayrnond. president of the senior class, and the valedictory valedic-tory address by Georgia Harmcr. Music for the occasion was given by the school double trio, the orchestra, or-chestra, a chorus of ninth grade girls, and a quartet. The invocation was by Lucy Waimviight. Brief talks were given giv-en by visiting school officials. |
