Show BARRETT GIVES AMERICAN FORK BIGJICTORY American Fork, Provo and Springville were the winners in Wednesday's games against Pay-son Pay-son Spanish Fork and Nephi. Only one more game remains to be played play-ed in the 1926 schedule of the Central Cen-tral Utah league. After the games are finished Friday the 1920 series will be history and preparations made for the perpetuation of the league during 1927. American Fork blackened Pays'on with a 12 to 2 score, with "Dad" Barrett leading the Cavemen stick-sters stick-sters with four hits at five times tilt The copper league player smashed out a triple, a two-bagger and two singles. A. TayloA Steele and Hillman were the leading batters bat-ters for Payson. Provo defeated Spanish Fork by score of 11 to 2. Dyer not only held the Spaniards to two runs, but also had a perfect batting record, getting three hits in three times up. After Hanks had been pounded generously, gen-erously, he was relieved by Carter, who was also unable to hold the slugging Timps. Springville converted 11 hits into 15 runs, while Nephi could only get 6 runs from nine hits in the tilt at Springville. Errors on the part of the Nephi Rangers were responsible for some of the runs scored against them. .. |
