Show PALMYRA STAKE WOMEN CONDUCT1 SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW Sweetpeas Edna Harwood, first, second and third. Prizes tor the best display from individual gardens were awarded as follow : First, Mrs. P. J. Bradford, Brad-ford, Second ward ; second, Mrs. Ella El-la Eraithwaite, Second ward : third Mrs. Annie Stanton. First ward : fourth, Mrs. Lizzie Tattle, Mrsi ward; fifth, Mrs. R, W. Creer, Sec ond ward. The prizes were awarded by Miss Ruby Smith, county home demon-trator, demon-trator, who has assisted in Ike project pro-ject work. An address on the growing grow-ing of flowers was . given by O.'K. Thomas of the Provo Floral company. com-pany. Mrs.' G. Allred gave a reading read-ing and musical numbers were given giv-en by Miss Iona Kelly, Salem ; Mrs. Maragaret Leyshon and Miss Mildred Mil-dred Larson. Leland; Miss Gladys Williams, Mrs. Jane Jones, Mrs. Edna Brockbank, and Mrs. W. L. McAllister. Prayers were by Mrs. Carrie Holt and President Henry A. Gardner. SPANISH FORK, Aug. 21 The first flower show of tbe Palmyra stake given under the auspices of . the relief societies of the stake and - in connection with the project work of the society, was held here Thursday Thurs-day afternoon commencing at 3 o'clock at the city pavilion and was a very successful affair. The large building was a mass of beautiful flowers, artistically arranged. ar-ranged. Each ward had a display In which flowers of all varieties vied: with each other in. point of heauty. Each ward endeavored to lutein the other in point of artistic irrangeent of the flowers and the Usplays were magnificent. For the best ward display the 'ollowing prizes were awarded: 1st prize, Spanish Eork First ward ; 2nd prize, Salem ward ; 3rd prize. Spanish. Fork Third ward. The prize for the ward having the largest percentage of flower gardens for the number of homes was a beautiful pennant, and was awarded to Leland ward with a percentage of 95. Spanish Fork Third ward was a close second w ith 'Xi. per cent, and Spanish Fork Second Sec-ond with 82 per cent.
