Show UTAH POULTRY FLOCKS TO BE ADDED UPON SALT LAKE CITY, Feb.3. With-1 u the next month or six weeks approximately one million baby chicks will have been added to poultry poult-ry flocks in Utah fig the opinion of the LTtah Poultry Producers Cooperative. Co-operative. Albertus "Willardson, Vice president, and Benjamin Brown for three years president and now sales director of the-- co-operative, recently went to California to attend the annual convention of the Pacific. States Butter Cheese and Poultry Poult-ry association and to study the baby chick outlook. They declared hatcheries hatch-eries in that state were oeinjr loaded with orders from Utah poultry pro- ducers. 1 The baby chick movement into Utah last spring established a new .record, but this spring's movement s expected to overshadow it. Though the majority of the chicks come from hatcheries in California and other points on the coast, the home hatchery industry is flourishing and the six small hatcheries in the state are finding a ready market for their entire output. In co-operation with the poultry specialists at the Utah Agricultural College, the co-operative association is endeavoring to place before its members all informatiin and advice that will inable them to mature the baby chicks with the lowest mortality mortal-ity rate possible. |
