Show Polar Flyers To Visit In Salt Lake DETROIT, Mich, I'Vh. I (VI') I Following il civic "hnn voyage.1' to be tendered from the steps of city i hull at noon, flight lenders of the Detroit Arctic expedition were to leave today for Point Barrow, Alaska, in quest' of possible land, weather data and aerial information informa-tion held by the polar ico cup! Captain tieorge Hubert Wilkins, expedition coiniunndi'r, bade Detroit farewell over the radio last night, expressing confidence ' that the expedition ex-pedition would attain its objectives. Major Thomas G. Lanphier, commandant com-mandant of Selfridge Flying' Field, who will accompany Wilkins as second sec-ond in command, alo predicted success for the veulure. As- the Wilkins party entrains at 1:35 p. m. for Seattle it will be given an aerial "bon voyage" by the crack First Pursuit group of Selfridgt Field. The itinerary from here to Seattle includes stops and entertainment at Denver, Salt Lake City and Portland. Port-land. Departure from Seattle will be taken Feb. 13 on the steamship Victoria for Seward Alaska.- The expedition will then proceed by rail to Fairbanks where two Fokker monoplanes, one equipped with three engines, will be assembled for the preparatory flight to Point Barrow.
