Show CD equipment valued at $45,090 made available to Springville Considerable progress is being be-ing made in Springville in Civil Civ-il Defense through the efforts of Chairman Lewis Thorpe and other interested citizens, it was announced this week. Recently eleven" members from the Springville unit ' of the National Guard spent 14 hours at the William Sessions fallout shelter in Orem, under direction of Carl B. Clegg, C. D. field representative, taking have suitable storage facilities and if all arrangements can be made, it will be housed in the basement of the Junior High School. The drug supplies will be stored at the Medical Center, Cen-ter, near the Junior High. The new hospital equipment can be used during an epidemic epidem-ic or in an emergency, and is considered by health officials and doctors to be a valuable asset to Springville. a shelter managing course which included instructions on radiological monitoring. Morrison, representing the State Board of Health, was in Springville, Wednesday of last week, concerning storage space and other requirements of the new portable hospital, which has been procured for Springville through efforts of Civil Defense leaders, the city, physicians, school officials and the guard. The new portable 200-bed hospital has a 30-day supply of drugs and operates on a 15-KW 15-KW lighting plant. It is reported re-ported to be valued at $45,000, but was procured at no cost to the city, with application made to the State Board of Health. The hospital equipment must Elected R. L.
